To many, lavish is related to luxury. It is, in a lot of cases, but when it comes to serendipity, it is absolutely not. Tranquility is, to many orthodox people like myself, related to low maintenance and simplicity.
By nature, we have a tendency to seek replenishment after each activity. This can take form in small aspects, like a nutritious dessert after a workout, or bigger aspects, like a rewarding travel after hard work on a project. The longer the wait and the harder the work, the more important the replenishment, according to my own humble experience.
Summer is one of the times of the year where a lot of us seek a full replenishment. And in order to satisfy our personal needs, we choose destinations according to our tastes and memories.
Mediterranean countries like Italy, Spain, France, Greece, and Turkey, to name a few, have a very special summer vacation feeling. Most certainly because when travelling to one of these countries, one doesn’t have to think about changing eating habits or unexpected weather because both are always perfect.
Marbella is and will always be my favorite summer getaway. I built a strong emotional attachment to this city because of the quality of life it provides. To me, one single bond is better than a stack of options. The quality of a travel depends on the quality of the person one is travelling with, and the memories taken from the travel.
There is nothing so special or “avant-garde” about Marbella. However, its simple meaningful features are its best attractions. People who love Marbella have something in common: they are family oriented.
During summer, children are the masters of the art of doing nothing, and as an adult, you do want to be part of this club when you have an extremely busy schedule during the entire year.
I am always surprised to see how people would leave Dubai and New York to lounge the street of the Old Town section of Marbella and have churros with melted chocolate. The answer is simplicity, and in simplicity lies happiness.
