Are you having a thought attack?
When speaking of thoughts and how they are processed you come across the fact that there are various outcomes to when negative thoughts crowd one’s mind. The present tends to get lost in the fog of unconsciousness when a person is stuck between an emotionally painful past and a frightful negative future. At that specific point in time, the one concerned is said to be having “thought attack.” Actually, there are many cases who are not fully conscious and aware of their actions which result to a mix of overwhelming and brooding behavior. As mentioned earlier, this behavior could also be due to different emotional feelings and overcrowded thoughts.
Two Minds in One Head.
In a sense, there are two minds in one head – a thinker and an observer.
If you come to think about it, it’s truly quite logical. On the one hand, we have the thinker which is the one who operates in the world being productive, holds a stable job and lives in an ordinary manner. Whereas on the other hand, we have the observer who stands back and observes what type of thoughts as well as results the thinker generates.
The trick to controlling these “thought attacks” in addition to both minds in one head is quite easy. Whenever events or emotions change, take a moment to become the observer. For better or for worse, review the thoughts that were generated in the mind of the thinker. Once having reached this point, one must ask the following three questions: What specific thoughts were created? What kind of external event occurred in combination to these thoughts? And is there a pattern? If these thoughts are not helpful, then you must recognize that you are going in a less desirable direction and must immediately decide to alter your course. This is highly advised to be done on a regular basis, perhaps even hourly.
What you want to do is gently, willingly open your heart to the universal power that is abundantly available to move yourself down the desired path. Use this exercise regularly for a week. Things will begin to change naturally. They may happen subtly, but they will happen surely. There is no need to force results or to blame yourself for a mistake. You are now in contact with the greatest force available in the universe. Make sure to relax. Merely allow your mind to settle and just be.
Are You Awake to Your Intrusive Thoughts?
Intrusive, negative, judgmental thoughts jump into our minds, rather like they have a life of their own! There is no one to blame or to judge. When you ask yourself questions like ‘What is the best way to make sure these thoughts don’t stay for a long visit or take up residence permanently?’ it’s a sign that you are on the right track, moving towards the right direction. You are becoming more mindful and of the patterns constructed in your head all in growing more conscious and aware. After all, negative thoughts only visit to see you if you are aware and awake!
Know for sure that as long as you are sincere and devoted to the purpose of finding the self within, not a single act of your mindfulness, awareness or dedication will go in vain. One who perseveres through this phase always reaches the point where, at the most unexpected moment, the quantum leap to the world of peace and silence happens.
Reprogramming Your Subconscious Mind
It is not just thinking positive thoughts about what you want to see happen in life that is important. Simultaneously, you must take care of all the other negativity in life. What determines the outcome is to what extent you are able to reprogram your subconscious mind where negative emotions are imprinted.
The key to happiness and peace is just as close as your thoughts are. Simply observe and watch. Let the laser of your consciousness cut down the weeds of negativity. Rest assured, the weeds will be burned off, and eventually you will be able to see a beautiful garden right in front of you. All of it can be transformed through companionship with your own mind, by loving, participating, and non-judgmentally observing when the thought attack comes. You learn to pause, adjust and move on. There is no need to worry or even go to the emergency room once you are at peace within seen as you befriend your own mind.
