Paris: Comtemporay Art- JR At the Louvre, Le Louvre

JR is one of the biggest worldwide contemporary artists, and the Louvre is displaying his photography this month. He combines the art forms of photography and collages into his own art forms.

Pierre Paulin’s designs include furniture, environments, projects, and drawings. His energies are eclectic and make each piece unique. He recreated the lines and structure of his chair to create a pure design.

Paula Modersohn-Becker- An Intensely Artistic Eye

Offering over 100 of her paintings, Modersohn-Becker’s artwork is a bold exhibition this summer at the Museum of Modern Art. Subjects include mothers, children, landscapes, still lifes, and self-portraits. Her self-portraits focus on her personal identity and her strength as a woman.

The museum has been under construction for the past few years, and it is finally opening its doors on June 17th. At ten stories high, the building has three new floors of galleries, a restaurant, and a viewing level on the top floor.
Edgar Degas: A Strange New Beauty

Degas’ works go far beyond his famous depictions of ballerinas. The exhibit offers over 120 of his works, from drawings, monotypes, prints, and sketchbooks. His works embody the abstract art movement of the late 1800’s.
