Organized from 23rd to 30th of June 2018 in Marrakech by the Mayshad Foundation, the first edition of the Mayshad Festival celebrated the richness and diversity of Moroccan culture in its many dimensions and especially that of African origin.
Being American born and African of Heart, founded and presided over by Nezha Alaoui, the Mayshad Foundation has constituted a bridge of cultures passionate by a permanent liaison role between America and Africa.
Through its many events and activities devoted to art and culture, the Mayshad Festival has achieved several goals, such as:
- Sensitize American investors on the importance of Africa while highlighting the Moroccan expertise in this continent, which is essential in economic exchange projects between the West and the African continent.
- Implement the cultural diversity of Moroccan society, with its mode of cohabitation between all races and all religions, its rich history and its geography favoring the mixing of cultures; these are the factors that make Morocco a model in its region.
- Create meeting spaces and forge strong ties between American, African and Moroccan entrepreneurs for the common good.
For its first edition, the Mayshad Festival has brought together prestigious guests for a week of discovery and immersion in the cultural wealth of Morocco such as African political leaders, CEO of French companies listed on the stock market, influential US figures of the world of Media, high finance and business, and Moroccan political leaders.
