Learn how Ayurveda—the sister science of yoga and one of the oldest medical traditions in the world—can help you live well by reading these books.
Integrate the ancient practice of Ayurveda into your modern-day life with one of these books.
Ayurveda—the sister science of yoga and one of the oldest medical traditions in the world—is centered on self-care. From learning about your dosha (mind-body type) to how to eat according to the seasons to the best times to fall asleep and wake up, Ayurveda can help you live radiantly well by getting back to your true nature.
Many of us are living out of balance from our true nature. We can feel it on our bodies and minds. Something’s off. Maybe it’s repeatedly staying up too late at night to work or watch TV, or not eating lunch so that the calories can be saved for an abundant feast at dinner. We can’t trick our bodies and minds. They have ancient and intuitive wisdom, which we can be tapping into more regularly if we listened and had the tools to proceed. This is where Ayurveda can help.
I discovered Ayurveda in my yoga teacher training in 2010. Since then, I have woven Ayurvedic practices into my daily life. These practices have become even more necessary and important to me as a full-time working mom.
Discover what Ayurveda can offer you with one of these books, and stay tuned to this site where I’ll share how Ayurveda has helped me live well and how it can help you, too.
- The Ayurveda Way: 108 Practices from the World’s Oldest Healing System for Better Sleep, Less Stress, Optimal Digestion, and More by Ananta Ripa Ajmera One of my favorite books about Ayurveda, this engaging book taught me how to further integrate the beautiful and life-enhancing practices of Ayurveda into everyday life.
- Ayurveda Made Easy: 50 Exercises for Finding Health, Mindfulness, and Balance by Heidi E. Spear This book offers simple, realistic ways to incorporate Ayurveda into a busy life. I read this book quickly and I found myself revisiting the practices that resonated with me.
- The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook: A Seasonal Guide to Eating and Living Well by Kate O’Donnell A major way to live well is by eating well. At the cellular level, you really are what you eat. Each food has a different energy or prana (life force), so it’s important to be mindful of what type of energy you put into your body. This book includes recipes that can nurture and nourish busy moms and their families.
