Could you please introduce yourself? What do you owe your success to?
My name is Tijania Goodwin and I am a Mogul in the Making. I serve in various capacities and am the owner of several businesses. I am a traveling event planner, empowerment speaker, branding coach, and a graphic designer. I created The Tijania Experience that serves as an umbrella for Events 2 The Tee, I AM POSH: Pushin Obstacles and Still Hustlin, A Queen’s Voice and King Me Empowerment Brands. I owe my success to God who has created this path called life for me. Also, my family and friends who have believed in me in everything that I do. I also want to commend myself because I have learned through life to keep pushing and knowing that when you have dedication and faith, all things are possible.
What is your mission in this life?
My mission in life is to help other men and women find their TRUE PURPOSE in life. We as people, waste a lot of time on things we are not passionate about and time is something that we cannot get back. I am a people person and I know my purpose in life is to share my life’s testimony and let people know that no matter what happens in your life, every day you are given another chance to do something different.
Share an example of when you established and accomplished a goal that was personally challenging. What helped you succeed?
A goal that was personally challenging was when I decided to leave my corporate job to pursue my passion full-time as an event planner. It was such a hard decision to make. I knew it was going to be something different and that it would be something that would change my life on so many levels. I decided to just take everything to God and pray on it. It was something that I had to give all my faith and trust to. Not getting a consistent check every two weeks and not having health insurance was the things that were floating in my head. The fear of the unknown really had me on the fence about not making this decision as well. So, I decided to take that leap of faith and I felt very much blind-sided. Little did I know, as soon as I left my job that the doors were going to open the way that they did. I started to build my network and put myself in the public eye. I had to learn that I was the image of my brand and I knew everything that was associated with me would be amazing! The things that helped me succeed was my faith in God. I had to trust in Him and know that everything was going to happen for a reason. I had to also stay consistent in everything that I did and every single time I did an event, I knew I had to put my all into it. Many people still have my back since I made that huge decision and it has almost been 3 years. I do not regret not one bit. Yes, it was hard then and it is still hard now but I am embracing every moment!
What would you consider as the key to success when communicating with your audience?
I believe the key to success when communicating with your audience is that you are always authentic. When you build that trust with your audience, they will always support you. They have then gained a mutual relationship with you. Also, when you are transparent, your audience will become more engaged with what you are speaking on. The goal is to always be REAL!
When you imagine an empowered human being, what do you see?
I see someone who is confident in everything that they do. Someone who embraces their life’s journey no matter the trials and tribulations knowing that it makes them who they are today. An empowered human being is open to possibilities because they have the power and the responsibility to find that place inside of themselves where everything is possible.
According to you, how can we inspire others?
We can inspire others by leaving your ego behind. If you really want to influence people, let your actions speak for themselves. If you are that awesome at something then you don’t need to tell anyone because they already know. Also, focus on relationships. Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Finally, we have to build people up. Small compliments have a way of brightening someone’s day no matter how dark the shadows maybe. Encourage people to always do better and that they are amazing people.
