Who is Rongxin?
Born in Dalian, Northeast China, Rongxin won scholarship to a university in Lyon before landing her career at a Chinese investments conglomerate. Finance comes second nature to her and her quench for knowledge led her to attend her MBA in Hong Kong and HEC Paris. A globetrotter, she encountered people of many cultures, widening her views on global damaging impacts of fashion and globalization. She took a step forward and laid the foundation for TOUCHEU, a conscious lifestyle community and sustainable handmade marketplace linking craftsmanship in the West and East to revive lost heritage.
How do you find the balance between the different aspects of your life?
First is to assess and be honest with oneself about life as it is now. Be grateful about what life has been. I would ask questions to myself. Am I a workaholic? Do I exercise well? Am I getting results? Next is to make conscious decisions to make things go in order to reduce stress at the same time. I believe it’s important to set realistic daily, monthly and yearly goals. Most of the time, people feel disappointed because they have expectations. Try to reduce expectations and take risks to pursue what you want – in career and life. Last but not least, always aim to have a positive mind-set and be helpful. Reassess and repeat the process to find balance.
For you, what is the meaning of success?
In Chinese culture, prosperity(发财)means financial success, good relationship and healthy body, mind and soul. For me, I hold the same belief. In addition, success means on awareness to live consciously – shop ethical products, eat green and spread the habit to become a positive example for others.
How do you empower yourself?
I read books on topics of leadership and personal development, follow influential figures, have a mentor and make friends with ambitious people that drive for a positive change.
How do you relate to the Mayshad Philosophy?
(To Be a Mayshad Woman, is a Choice a Woman makes to live a stimulating life with a positive Philosophy based on Gratitude, Acceptance and Accomplishment, in order to Be Who She Wants to Be. She handles different Aspects of her Life with Confidence, and makes sure to always remain Herself, guarding her own values.)
In retrospect, I believe my philosophy is in line with Mayshad’s. Today, competition is inevitable so being the best version of oneself is no longer a choice. It is a necessity. My actions are not perfect but I continuously improve myself to be a Mayshad Woman.
