Last year, I was in a huge transition of my Life. And as I was going through my changes, my home decorations appealed me as well, and told my self why not changing the design of my Living room. It was the place where I was spending mostly all the time I was home before going to sleep…I wanted to change it to something modern and contemporary, which will be in harmony with the design of my Home! And guess what? The source of my inspiration was a Special Sofa, The kind of Sofa I fell in Love with.
When I first saw this sofa, I knew that the person behind the creation of this masterpiece must have other beautiful designs, and I was not wrong.
Jean Royére, born in 1902 in Paris and Died in 1981 in Pennsylvania who designed the interior for the Hôtel Saint-Georges in Beirut, Lebanon, was one of the designers of the 20th century who put his imagination to create new ideas with a touch of humor and poetry which we can notice in the names he gave to his lamps such as the Rings lamp!
His talents were put on spotlight during the renovation of the Hotel Carlton’s brasserie on the Champs Elysées. And then in 1942, he opened his own agency. In 1946, he decided to expand internationally and opened a store in Cairo, it was a huge success which led him to create another agency in Beirut in Association with Nadim Majdalani.
He always knew how to differentiate himself from other designers, His creations were original and he was seeking uniqueness… We can easily notice it! As an example: This Beautiful Chair!
