Jacques LE CHEVALIER
My Spiritual Moments are always unique, I get to free my spirit, connect my mind and absorb an extraordinary positive energy that is always allowing me to take a deep breath and start a new day! Also, What really makes my experience unique is my passion and particular attention to the architecture and the beauty of churches, and what really appeals my designer’s eye is the stained glasses.
One of my favorite decorative artists is French glassmaker Jacques Le Chevalier who imposed himself as a transition between middle ages and modernity, which characterizes the art of the debut of the 20th century. He started in the stained glasses field by collaborating with Louis Barillet until 1945 before creating his own workshop in Fontenay-aux-roses. Le Chevalier was a member of the “Société des artistes décorateurs” and secretary of the Salon d’Automne, in which he sometimes participated as an artist doing paintings and watercolors.
His famous works were the ones he did within La Cathédrale de Notre Dame.
Everytime I am Stepping in, I have like the first feeling and excitement I have experienced the first day!
This place is energetically and architecturally beautiful!
Besides his works on stained glasses, he got famous for his production of luminaries between the 1920s and 1930s in collaboration with René Koechlin. They made a series of lamps with a modern shape, partially with industrial materials like aluminum and ebonite.
