Global Citizen | Travel | Dream | Explore | Believe | & Always Smile | #PositiveEnergy | Full time Global Citizen, part time Executive Assistant, Amira Kabbara is a mentee of the Universe and spreader of positivity and love! Ok so.... maybe she really does work a “9-5” as an Executive Assistant in Boston, which most would consider full time… but she knows that the whole world is her back yard, and life doesn't stop at 5pm!
No, it is not Dr. Seuss Day! Let’s really think about this title and break it down. If it SHOULD HAVE happened, it WOULD HAVE actually happened! Really though! I hate to use the cliché, “everything happens for a reason,” but good or bad, this is true!!
I know it is hard to take that kind of ownership of things… It is much easier to blame situations or other people for the outcomes in your life, but the reality is… we can’t force things that aren’t meant to be. You can sit and wonder why a relationship didn’t work out, or why you didn’t get that dream job, but sometimes there isn’t a reason. Nobody is to blame. There’s nothing you SHOULD have done. If something is meant to be, it will simply be… and that will become a part of your journey. Every so called “failure”, every achievement, every tragedy, is a thread that shapes a stronger, better you.
Holding on to all of the “I should have done/said blah blah blah” or “he/she should have XYZ” is blocking all of your energy for the things that COULD BE! Right now! When we hold onto the past we limit our present and future possibilities. Everything that you are complaining about and agonizing over from the past is creating your future. Who’s to say you aren’t just willing those things to happen again? You are unintentionally repeating the past.
So now I challenge you to stop dwelling on the past. Stop holding grudges. No more telling the same story over and over, and no more over analyzing events from the past. It is time to let it all go! Take control of your mind and live! Live in the present, and keep it positive because this present moment is shaping your future! Don’t forget that if it “should have” it “would have”.
