One of my fondest memories as a child growing up was tea time—an incredibly sacred Indian tradition. Whenever we would go to my grandparents’ house for the holidays or summer break, there would be all kinds of sandwiches, Indian sweets, and treats usually not allowed. But this time of day was the ultimate time to indulge in every sense of the word.
Obviously, it would be nice to make an event out of sitting around drinking tea every afternoon, but being professionals, we rarely have the time. So that I didn’t lose the sacredness of one of my favorite traditions, I’ve found a way to incorporate it with more simplicity.
For a long time, I drank my tea at the end of the day because I found that it satisfied my craving for dessert. Just a sweet, floral tea seemed to always subdue any sugar craving. But soon, I began to really enjoy the ritual of it all. There’s something so soothing about curling up on the couch with a warm cup of tea that finishes that day off perfectly.
So I wanted to give you a little bit of inspiration to start your own tea ritual or add a little something extra to an already existing one. Below are my 4 favorite teas for feeling at ease, loved, and more grounded.
Chocolate-Mint Kusmi Tea: Mint chocolate black tea is ideal for a decadent afternoon break. If you loved the combo of mint and chocolate this is for you!
Turmeric Ginger Rishi Tea: This is a sweet, zesty, and refreshing blend of ginger, orange peel, lemongrass, and turmeric root. It also turns a beautiful golden color after it’s steeped which I love!
The Republic of Tea Get Gorgeous: This organic, rooibos-based, naturally caffeine-free tea blend is brimming with antioxidants – your skin’s best friend. Grab a cup for a little extra glow.
Rose Congou No. Six Depot: I adore flowery tea blends and this one is so luxurious. It’s a layering of fresh blossoms of rose, jasmine, and lychee between layers of black tea.
