1- You are Active, you are Famous, you are Successful. With all that said, do you still have Dreams ?
I couldn’t help but smile at this question, I do not consider myself famous at all! Active? most definitely, Successful? depending on your definition of Success … Accomplishments in my view is quite an intimate and personal concept and if you stop dreaming, you truly stop living.
2- What made you decide to lead an Active Lifestyle, when you were born in such a Prestigious Family ?
This was ingrained to me by my mother not only by her own education and individuality but also by her actions and businesses. Coming herself from a prestigious background her ancestors saw the rise and fall of power, fame and riches. Therefore she always made sure that our priorities were never the “External” tools but the “Internal” tools such as Education, Independence and the service you can provide to the world and since a very young age it became to me and my siblings our core beliefs.
3- You have chosen Art, do you believe that Art can be Empowering to Women ?
Yes I have chosen Art but almost by accident ( If you believe in accidents ), as my background is in Science and I am now a PHD Imperial college graduate in Clinical Medicine with a speciality in Obesity and Ectopic Fat.
But when I was 20 years old, I was working as an employed genetic researcher at the King Faisal Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to the horror of some extended members of my family. But these were the best years of my life! Not only because it was my first job but also because I met some on the most incredible women of my life! Some of them were amateur artists, I use “amateurs” loosely as they were quite talented and avant garde in their approach but had no space to exhibit their works and their craft weren’t taken too seriously.
Therefore, in 2005 Lahd Gallery was born! Not only out of necessity but out of passion! Creating exactly that: a hub to empower women! Now it is the oldest contemporary gallery in the region celebrating its 10 years anniversary last year.
4- Based on this Description, how do you relate to the Mayshad Woman philosophy ?
To Be a Mayshad Woman, is a Choice a Woman makes to live a stimulated life with a positive Philosophy based on Gratitude, Acceptance and Accomplishment, in order to Be Who She Wants to Be.
She handles different Aspects of her Life with Confidence, and makes sure to always remain Herself, guarding her own values.
She is a free spirit, who designs her own Life inspiring others to do the same.
The first and perhaps the most important thing about Mayshad Woman philosophy is the word ‹ Gratitude › . I love that word and try to live it everyday. In the Arabic language we use it in every other sentence “AlHamdullelah” but we barely pay attention to it, it almost comes mechanically which is a real shame.
Since with Gratitude a woman or a man will automatically be Accepting, Accomplished, at Peace and truly Blessed.
