Born in July 6, 1907, Frida Kahlo was a Mexican Painter known for herself Portraits.
Suffering lifelong health problems, that were caused by a traffic accident, Kahlo abandoned the study of medicine and began to paint, in order to occupy herself during her three-month immobilization, which has made her opt for Painting as a career.

Being Politically active, Frida Kahlo was connected to Diego Rivera, who encouraged her artwork, considering it at a point, Surrealist. Kahlo, rejected the Characterization, arguing that her work reflected more of her reality than her dreams. Their relationship became intimate, and Frida kahlo and Diego Rivera lived a troubled Marriage.

In 1938, Kahlo had a major Exhibition at a New York City Gallery, and received two commisions as a result of the show. And in 1939, she went to live in Paris for a time, where she exhibited some of her paintings and became Friend with many artists, such as Picasso and Marcel Duchamp. During this ime, she painted one of her most famous works, the Two Fridas (1939). The figures are believed to represent « Unloved » and « Loved » versions of Kahlo. In 1944, Kahlo painted the Broken Column which depicted a nearly nude Frida split down the middle revealing her spine as a shattered decorative column.
Frida Kahlo is still admired as a Feminist Icon.
