Ambition is the main reason we always strive to achieve more and more in life and it represents the fuel that makes us run towards achieving our goals. Unfortunately, sometimes it is also the reason we don’t. Sometimes we lack to see the bigger picture, instead of running after one goal, our ambition makes us run towards plenty and we end up achieving none.
Ambition can also make you miserable instead of happy. Ambition can make you lose sight of what you want or what’s best for you. So, you spend less time doing what you love or being surrounded by the people you care the most about just to overload yourself to the point where you regret what you’re doing. If wanting to do so much but the result of doing so much is that you feel on edge and worried all the time then learn to say no before reaching the breaking point.
Going after your dreams and chasing them is not a bad thing, quite on the contrary, it’s honorable. But you should mostly enjoy it because if you don’t then, what’s the point? You should always make your happiness your central concern.
Ambition can’t be categorized as positive or negative, it’s whatever you make of it.
You should just make a conscious effort and take a step back when you realize you’re doing too much.
Each one of us deserves to live life as he or she sees fits but you can’t let your high ambitions take something from your happiness. Because doing a lot may seem important, but your happiness is nonetheless more important.
