It’s that time of year again, the time when we close a chapter and get ready to open a new one. And like every other year, we make promises to ourselves for the upcoming Ones which we call New Year’s resolutions. But sometimes we tend, and myself first to have hard times making them happen, and this is all because we vow to make huge changes that are hard to accomplish and also because they are mostly last minute resolutions.
So, there are some steps I learned from reading many books, and that worked pretty well with me. This is what you should do to set new resolutions :
- Think of your previous resolutions and try to find out where did you fail into making them happen! This will prevent you from making the same mistake twice!
- Once you know where your failures were, start planning ahead of time on your new resolutions, after all, a goal without a plan is just a wish, don’t forget to be realistic on things you want to change , you can’t for example plan on losing 10kg in a day!
- One at a time; Don’t get distracted by many resolutions, start with what’s more important for you and focus on it, If you do that, believe me you will have a clearer mindset.
- Stay positive; Sometimes new resolutions will take you a long time to achieve them, do not give up. Buddha said “ No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again”
